This album rocks like a solid gold bastard. This is how Hardcore should be.
It’s dirty and brutal to the nth degree. Hellfish will have you bouncing
off the walls with this corrosive sonic collage.

Hardcore Techno has it’s origins in Hardcore Rave and Gabba – that
wonderful amphetamines-only Dutch creation. The sound has much more of a
Rap influence here though. So much for the lesson. I’ve heard me fair share
of Hardcore Techno. It’s banging and it’s fast – 180+ bpm up all night
Gabba territory – but, well … it isn’t a patch on this. Hellfish sticks
his fingers down Hardcore’s throat and makes it regurgitate itself. If
anything deserves to be called hardcore it’s Meat Machine Broadcast System.
In my opinion Hellfish is up there with Alec Empire – a much more
meaningful comparison that whistle blowing Hardcore or cheesy Rotterdam
Gabba. If you’ve already heard Hellfish, or heard some of the stuff out
there on his label Deathchant Records you’ll know what I mean, and if you
haven’t, then get this album and blow yer ears off.

Favorite Robot, next to mix it up for the exciting series is global electronic
music icon Timo Maas, and it is out NOW.
Still riding high off the success of his latest and greatest full length
relaese, Lifer, back in 2013, Timo has long been a pioneer in his field. Of
course, he also runs his own influential label, Rockets & Ponies, and the
German producer has also appeared on the MFR label before with standout track

Dan Snaith’s early recordings as Manitoba underlined his status among the chattering electronic classes as one of the brightest talents to emerge during the early 2000s. Having already proved himself master of the sublime with his 2000 debut EP, People Eating Fruit, the Canadian’s subsequent Paul’s Birthday EP opened him out even further. After moving to London, he released an excellent second album, Up in Flames (2003), that saw him become a darling of critics. One year later, however, Snaith was forced to give up the name Manitoba after Dictators frontman Handsome Dick Manitoba sued for trademark infringement, despite the passing of 15 years since the release of the only material under his name. Snaith renamed his project Caribou, his two previous full-lengths were reissued under the new moniker, and he released his first new Caribou album, The Milk of Human Kindness, in 2005 for Domino. Snaith moved to Merge for 2007′s gorgeous Brit psych-influenced Andorra — which won Canada’s 2008 Polaris Music Prize — and 2010′s more dancefloor-oriented Swim.
